About these terms and conditions

These terms and conditions govern the contractual relationship between Ruka Africa Limited and yourself.

Please read these Terms and Conditions carefully as by booking any flight with Ruka Africa Limited, you acknowledge that you have read and understood these Terms and Conditions and you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

If you have confirmed a booking on any flight with more than one client named and booked on such a booking, you shall be deemed to have accepted these Terms and Conditions on behalf of all clients named in the booking (including minors and those with a disability) and therefore all clients in that group indicate their acceptance and agreement to these Terms and Conditions.

The client who confirmed the booking is considered to be the selected contact person for all other clients named in that booking.

  1. Ruka Africa is not a direct air carrier and all flights are operated by TCAA licensed direct air carriers. The liability of Northern Air is limited in respect of the carriage of passengers is subject to the rules and limitations relating to liability established by the Warsaw Convention as applied in Tanzania and by the complete terms and conditions listed on the Ruka Africa website. 
  2. Ruka Africa reserves the right to change departure times or carrier when so required for operational, weather and safety reasons.
  3. Ruka Africa is not responsible for any direct or consequential costs resulting from any delays to its services and particularly if a delay results in missing a connection to another carrier- domestic or international. 
  4. At the check-in, passengers will be required to show their passports, or national ID with a photograph for identification purposes. 
  5.  Tariffs are subject to change without prior notice 
  6. No liability whatsoever is accepted towards passengers or hirers, their dependants or any other persons in respect of death, injury, sickness, damage or loss, whether sustained onboard the aircraft or in the course of any of the operations of flight, embarking, disembarking or otherwise.
  7. While participating in any Ruka Africa flights, images photos or videos may be taken by other clients and/or Ruka Africa limited representatives that may contain or feature the ————passenger in part or in whole. The passenger acknowledges that they consent to any such images, photos and videos being taken and grants a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide, irrevocable licence to Ruka Africa Ltd, its affiliates and assigns, to reproduce for any purpose whatsoever (including marketing and promotions), in any medium whatsoever, whether currently known or hereinafter devised, without any further obligation to the client or compensation payable to the client.
  1. If the weather deteriorates and we can not land back in Arusha, we will divert to Kilimanjaro International Airport and land. Passengers can either wait for the weather to clear and then fly back to Arusha or take our arranged ground transportation from Kilimanjaro Airport to Arusha at no extra cost. Our ground transportation will return them back to Arusha airport.  
  2. Viewing Mt. Kilimanjaro from the sky can never be guaranteed and in the unfortunate event that clouds have covered the mountain during your flight, we will offer to reschedule you on another flight (depending on availability) or refund 50% your ticket price.

1. No shows will result in a full 100% penalty of the full price.
2. Cancellations within 14 days or less of the scheduled flight will result in 100% penalty of the full price
3. Cancellation 15 to 34 days will result in a 50% penalty
4. Cancellation 35 days or longer will have no penalty
5. To reschedule your seat on another flight is subject to availability of seats on the available schedules. Please email info@rukaafrica.com or call +255 753 316 954 for this service. There is a 50% rescheduling fee on the seat ticket price.

  1. Passengers over 140kg inclusive of all gear will be required to purchase a 2nd seat
  2. The minimum age to board a Kilimanjaro scenic flight is 4 years old. Children below the age of 12 must have a guardian or parent on board.
  3. On non Mt.Kilimanjaro scenic flights, children under the age of 2 years old may fly as a lap child. All children 2 years or older must have a purchased seat in order to fly and have a guardian or parent on board.

Passengers over 140kg inclusive of all gear will be required to purchase a 2nd seat.

  1. All cell phones and camera equipment are encouraged. Any special camera equipment must be secured by our staff prior to your departure. Pilots have the final approval of all equipment.
  2. Any unauthorized actions or behaviours will result in the immediate termination of the flight.
  3. No smoking is allowed on the aircraft.
  4. Everything allowed on board the aircraft will be at the discretion of the pilot
  5. Ruka Africa reserves the right to refuse or remove a passenger if the passenger appears to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol to a degree that the passenger may endanger the passenger or another passenger or members of the flight.
  1. All transactions will be conducted in United States currency.
  2. No flight will be confirmed until full payment is received, unless agreed upon.
  3. If we are unable to obtain authorization on the credit card you submitted, we will attempt to notify you at the email address you provided. If we are unable to make contact, your reservation will be cancelled.

  1. Ruka flights in Tanzania are operated by TCAA certified air carriers. All flight operators are notified on our website in advance.
  2. Ruka reserves the right to change the carrier or substitute aircraft if necessary, such as for operational or safety reasons. Ruka will provide notification in the event that there is a change in the operator.
