4 Things you need to know before you book a Kilimanjaro scenic flight
People book Kilimanjaro scenic flights for various reasons. Some book the flight to celebrate special moments in their lives such as birthdays, anniversaries. Others book Kilimanjaro scenic flight for adventure, while others are looking for a unique tour experience in Tanzania. Whatever reason you may have for booking Kilimanjaro scenic flight, know that you are up for an amazing flight experience of a lifetime.
To maximize your chance of enjoying the Kilimanjaro scenic flight experience, we think you need to consider the following before booking this experience:
Overnight in Arusha:
Kilimanjaro scenic flight is a round trip that begins and returns to Arusha airport. The best times to view the mountain are very early in the morning or late in the evening.
We, therefore, recommend spending a night in Arusha before your flight. This will keep you in close proximity to the airport ensuring an easy to and from transfer to the airport.
Consider at least two days of stay in Arusha
Weather on Mount Kilimanjaro can be predictable, however, there is still a risk of the mountain being covered with clouds due to factors such as trade winds which form the rainy season during April and May. We, therefore, recommend that you give yourself at least two days of attempting Kilimanjaro scenic flight so that in case the mountain is not visual on your first day in Arusha, then you can attempt the flight on another day.
For example, when planning for a Safari to the Serengeti, overnight in Arusha upon arrival and join a morning flight. On your return back from Safari, overnight in Arusha before you catch a flight back home or to Zanzibar. This will enable you to take another Kilimanjaro scenic flight in the next morning or evening.
Private or shared Kilimanjaro Scenic flight
At Ruka Africa, we arrange both private and shared Kilimanjaro scenic flights. You can easily book a seat or seats on our daily morning and evening scenic flight schedules throughout the year. However, booking a private charter is a great way to experience the mountain as a group of friends or family. It might actually end up being cheaper than booking individual seats.
